dust & dirt
Use a hat brush to remove it from the surface of your hat.
lint, hair or dust
Use a small lint roller or a piece of tape to remove dust and debris from your hat. Wrap the tape around your hand, sticky side out, and gently sweep and dab across the surface of your hat.
grease stains
Sprinkle some corn starch directly onto it and rub it into the stain gently. After 5-10 minutes, brush it away to see if it has absorbed the stain.
stains
Use a gum eraser or clean makeup sponge and gently dab the stain (or smudge) to try to remove it. Mild stains can often be removed with a simple wet wipe, gently rub the stain and let it dry.
clean the sweatband
If air drying the sweatband does not effectively freshen up your hat, you can wash it. Avoid getting water anywhere other than the sweatband. Use a toothbrush, water and a mild soap to gently scrub the sweatband. Carefully rinse the band and blot the hat dry.
deep clean
To refresh your hat, sprinkle it with an absorbent powder. Choose a powder that is close to the color of your hat to avoid discoloration. Let the hat sit. Leave your hat for several hours to allow the powder to soak up dirt and oils efficiently. Remove the powder. Shake off as much of the absorbent powder as possible. Remove the rest of the powder by using a vacuum cleaner or a soft brush.

reshape
Use a steamer or a pot of boiling water. Steam from the inside and help out with the gentle touch of your hand to rise to its original shape. Then let it cool off in the shape you want to keep it.
protect
Waterproofing spray will increase the lifetime of your hat, keeping it more protected against rain. If your hat gets wet, make sure it dries in the shape you want to keep it in before applying waterproofing spray. Waterproofing is done on a completely dry piece.
shape & form
All hats are handmade and hand stitched. Variations in shape and form as well as measurements in brim and crown may occur. Measurements will also vary depending on how the hat is shaped by it’s wearer.
No stiffening is used in the hat making process which makes the hats, soft and comfortable with good travel abilities.one size
One size hats are sized 54 cm - 60,5 cm.
lining
Elastic / stretch band is developed by us to make our hats more easy to wear. It makes the hat sit very comfortably on your head and can be worn down in colder weather and / or as a detail. More flexible in size.
One size hats always comes with elastic lining.
Our leather bands are vegetable tanned. Looks more classic, a bit cooler in warm weather. The sizing is less flexible.adjust size
For major size changes, see if you can find a hat maker or milliner in your area. They can usually help you out.
If the hat is slightly small, use steam to warm it up, then put it on your head (check that it is not too warm), stretch it a bit on your head and let it cool off for a perfect fit.
If the hat is slightly too big and it has leather band inside you can put paper (traditionally cork) on the inside of the lining.
Horisaki does not make fragile hats. If materials are fraying they were chosen by the makers to do so.
